THE HIPSHOOTERS are a dynamic 3-piece electric blues rock band formed in Auckland in 1993 but have been based in Brisbane since 1995, playing all the major Australian Blues Festivals and firmly establishing themselves on the local Aust scene, winning two Blues Awards for Best Band and Best Song 2002. Since 1993 the band has released 3 albums, new one recording in 2009.
While mainstays of the band, the members have all been in other more well known and lesser known musical groups. Supports include: the Late Jimmy Rogers, Long John Baldry and the Bondi Cigars. Bassist Billy Williams has played in many NZ bands including Blerta, Ticket, Classic Affair, Space Farm, Monsoon, Shazzam, Doc Savage and the Phil Keys Band of Light.
